Bradgate Park: A Video

When I first started this blog, it was to hone my skills as a beginner writer. I wanted to develop my own ability, to the point where I would be happy to share my own stories with people, and hopefully, they might enjoy reading them. I thought writing was the process I wanted, but I’ve come to realise that it is merely one format of telling a story, and storytelling is what I enjoyed most.

I still plan on continuing this blog, developing my writing, and hopefully, one day have a story worthy of 200+ pages which I can put to paper and share. Yet, I’ve also started to play with other formats.

At work, I’ve recently made a few videos documenting the work we do to share on the company’s YouTube channel. I really enjoyed the process of taking the video clips, and the interview audio and turning them into a story which people engage with. When that video got released, it had over 30 shares and 1000+ views within the first day. I can’t lie. It was nice to see people like the story I was sharing.

So I’ve taken that interest home and started to use it to tell my own stories through photography and video.

Last week I got up early and drove to a nearby deer park for sunrise, to watch the deer move through the park before the crowds arrived, and to climb to the top of the hill where there is an old tower overlooking the park. I took my camera and decided to try and show my walk in the form of a video.

It’s by no means any good, but it’s a start and I’m looking forwards to trying to film a few more videos soon.

  1. Hi, enjoyed it thanks. How about trying some different cut always like fading or others to add a bit of variation as each clip is short the cut always can feel a little abrupt. Just a suggestion, I did enjoy.

    1. Thank you for the feedback. I’m still.playing around with the doting software and have just upgraded from the really basic one I had before so will be able to play around with the cuts.

I’ve just worked on another one now so keep an eye out for that 🙂
